In ultra-low conductivity water, ionic mobility changes non-linearly with temperature.
Standard linear compensation may introduce deviation under 10 μS/cm conditions.
Pure water compensation applies a temperature-dependent algorithm optimized for low ionic concentration solutions, improving accuracy in ultrapure water systems such as RO/DI and pharmaceutical purified water loops.
TDS is calculated from conductivity using a multiplication factor (typically 0.40–0.70).
The correct factor depends on ionic composition:
NaCl-dominant solutions: ~0.5
Natural water mixtures: ~0.65
Industrial process water: application-specific
Incorrect TDS factor selection leads to systematic deviation. The adjustable TDS coefficient ensures application-specific calibration alignment.
The cell constant (K) determines sensitivity range:
K=0.1 → low conductivity / ultrapure water
K=1.0 → general water testing
K=10 → high conductivity / brine solutions
Proper matching ensures optimal resolution and minimizes polarization effects. Adjustable cell constant configuration improves cross-application flexibility.
High-salinity solutions (>100 mS/cm) may introduce:
Electrode polarization
Temperature gradient deviation
Non-linear conductivity behavior
Incomplete temperature equilibration
Using appropriate cell constants and allowing sufficient stabilization time reduces high-range deviation.
Ultrapure water typically measures below 2 μS/cm.
At such low levels, small contamination events produce minimal conductivity change.
High resolution enables early detection of ion breakthrough in RO/EDI systems, protecting downstream industrial processes.
IP65 rating ensures:
Dust-tight enclosure
Protection against low-pressure water jets
Resistance to outdoor humidity and splashing
This enables stable performance in wastewater plants, cooling systems, field sampling, and industrial environments without compromising measurement integrity.
