Level Switchs

RF Admittance Level Switch

Reliable level detection for sticky, coating, and difficult materials in industrial processes

  • Designed to eliminate false alarms caused by material adhesion

  • Active guard technology for stable and accurate switching

  • Suitable for powders, particles, liquids, and viscous materials

  • Industrial-grade design for harsh and hazardous environments

  • OEM / ODM configuration available for project-based integration

A proven solution for applications where capacitive and mechanical level switches fail.

Procurement & Risk-Reduction Perspective

In many industrial applications, level switches fail not because of poor quality, but because material adhesion and coating interfere with measurement. Traditional capacitive or mechanical switches often require frequent cleaning, recalibration, or replacement.

Instrava RF admittance level switch is designed to address these challenges:

  • Eliminates false measurement caused by material buildup on the probe

  • No moving parts, no mechanical wear, and minimal maintenance

  • Stable output even with fluctuating material levels

  • Reduced maintenance frequency lowers lifecycle cost

  • Suitable for continuous operation in harsh industrial environments

This makes RF admittance technology a preferred choice for critical and difficult applications, not just an alternative option.

  Liquid Level Switch Description

RF Admittance Level Switch Key Technology & Performance

Measurement Principle (RF Admittance Technology)
RF admittance level control measures the admittance of the medium using high-frequency radio waves. Unlike conventional capacitive technology, RF admittance uses a three-electrode system consisting of a measurement electrode, shield (guard) electrode, and ground electrode.

Why It Matters

  • The active guard electrode isolates the measurement signal from material adhesion

  • Changes in impedance, capacitive reactance, and inductive reactance are processed together

  • Stable measurement even when material coats the probe surface

Signal Stability & Reliability

  • Built-in signal processing compares real-time signals with reference values

  • Adjustable switching delay (0–30 s) filters out short-term fluctuations

  • Reliable relay output ensures accurate level detection

  Related Product Recommendations

RF admittance level switches use three-electrode technology with an active guard electrode, which compensates for material buildup on the probe. This prevents false switching caused by adhesion or coating—a common limitation of traditional capacitive level switches.

Yes. RF admittance technology is specifically designed for sticky, viscous, and coating materials. The circuit automatically corrects signal changes caused by material adhesion, ensuring stable and repeatable switching without frequent cleaning.

RF admittance level switches can detect powders, granules, liquids, viscous media, and both conductive and non-conductive materials, making them suitable for diverse industrial processes.

The active shield electrode isolates the measurement signal from coating effects. Combined impedance, capacitive reactance, and inductive reactance are analyzed together, allowing the switch to ignore material buildup on the probe surface.

No regular maintenance is required. The non-mechanical design eliminates wear, and the anti-adhesion function prevents probe fouling from affecting performance.

Yes. Explosion-proof versions are available with certifications such as Exia II CT5 Ga and Exid II CT5 Gb, suitable for hazardous industrial environments.
